Curriculum Intent
At Norbreck Primary Academy, our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to acknowledge each child’s prior learning, provide rich, hands-on learning experiences, and nurture the development of interpersonal skills, resilience, and creative, critical thinking. We value every child as a unique individual and take pride in celebrating diversity within our school community.
We place a strong emphasis on utilising our local area, Blackpool, to enrich our children's learning experiences. By exploring the rich history, cultural landmarks, and natural beauty of our town, we aim to deepen our students' understanding of their local surroundings and foster a strong sense of pride and connection to their community. Whether it's through visits to the beach, museums, or other significant sites, we integrate these experiences into our curriculum to enhance learning and help our children develop a greater appreciation and love for Blackpool.
Our approach to learning is grounded in the teaching of fundamental skills, knowledge, concepts, and values. We are committed to offering enrichment opportunities that ignite a passion for learning, believing that childhood should be a joyful, inquisitive, and explorative time where curiosity knows no bounds and the desire for new knowledge and experiences is ever-present. Through our carefully planned curriculum, we cultivate positive learning attitudes that embody the values and skills essential for taking ownership of learning and achieving future success.
