Our Year 5 students showcased their STEM skills during the Road to RIAT Challenge. They spent an exciting day working in teams to design and test three gliders, aiming to see which one would travel the furthest. Revisiting their knowledge of forces, they explored how aircraft take off, stay airborne, and land by understanding the principles of weight, lift, thrust, and drag. Additionally, they collaborated to create a sustainable aircraft of the future, competing for incredible prizes. It was undoubtedly a memorable experience for all involved.
