What will I need in school?

Please send a book bag to school with your child. They will bring home a sharing book on a Monday and a reading book on a Friday once phonics teaching has been established.

Water bottles are to be sent to school on a Monday. These will be kept in school, washed and refilled daily. Water bottles will return home each Friday.

PE kits come into the school at the start of each term and are sent home at the end of the term.

Please send a pair of wellies into school with your child. They will be returned home at the end of the year. If for any reason you need your child's wellies home, before the end of the year, please let us know and we will send them home.

Class Routines

A typical day in Reception:

8.50 - Children enter school through the reception steps.

9.00 - Milk and registration

9.10-9.30 - Daily Mile

9.30-9.50 - Phonics/English

9.50-11.00 - Indoor/outdoor continuous provision and adult directed tasks

11.00-11.30 - Maths

11.30-11.45 - Circle time

11.45 - 12.45 - Lunch

12.45 - Registration

12.45-1.00 - Talk time

1.00-2.30 - Indoor/outdoor continuous provision and adult directed tasks

2.30-2.45 - Circle time

2.45-3.00 - Story time

3.00-3.05 - Home time

Homework

Homework in Reception consists of Together Tasks that will be based on the learning that has been covered in school. Together Tasks will be sent on a Friday via Seesaw.

In Reception we also encourage you to share with us on Seesaw any activities you have done at home as we will share these during circle times as part of our Communication & Language and PSED areas of our EYFS curriculum.
