At Norbreck, we work hard to encourage a love of writing. We want our children to leave school with the skills of an excellent writer. 

At the start of each academic year, we begin with the 'Place value of punctuation and grammar' to build a sturdy foundation for our pupils to excel from. Grammar, sentence structure and punctuation are taught explicitly and we make sure our children have enough practice to gain high degrees of fluency in spelling and handwriting. We gradually build the writing tasks we introduce, ensuring our children have the required knowledge and skills in place first.
