Our Year 2 children took a journey back in time to experience the dramatic events of the Great Fire of London! With the help of a time-traveling historian, they stepped into the past, discovering what life was like during the fateful days of 1666.

Through exciting roleplay, the children worked together to tackle the fire just as Londoners did—passing heavy leather buckets along a human chain to battle the flames, long before fire engines existed! They also explored real and replica artifacts from the time and learned how fire hooks were used to pull down buildings, creating crucial firebreaks to halt the blaze.
