Nursery & Preschool links
We value the importance of working with our local nurseries to prepare pre-school children for life at 'BIG school'. Each half-term, we invite local nurseries to join us for an exciting session linked to a story, led by one of our highly skilled Reception teachers. Fun and smiles are always guaranteed!
Term 1 2024- The Leaf Thief 
The first session of the year kicked off to a great start! First we read the story called 'The Leaf Thief' and then went outside to do lots of fun activities linked to autumn. We finished the session with a sing-a-long to '5 sleepy owls'. We all had a great time!
Term 2 2024- Oh Christmas Tree! 
We certainly got into the festive spirit with our local nurseries on this visit! We read the story, 'Oh Christmas Tree!' and made our very own sparkly decorations. We finished our session with a good Christmas sing-a-long using some special musical instruments. We all had lots of fun!
Term 3 2024- Mr. Greedy & The Gingerbread Man 
"Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread man!"
This nursery session saw the very greedy, Mr. Greedy make a Gingerbread Man who escaped from the oven and ran away as fast he could. Despite being super speedy, the poor Gingerbread Man soon met his fate!
The children enjoyed reading the story and making their own Gingerbread puppet. We had a Gingerbread Man snack (before they ran away!) and sang number songs all about eating Gingerbread Men.
What fun we had!
